Flush-mounted components – The Recipe

Before proceeding with the basic installation. It is important to note that you can order the flush-mounted components for BLT design switches through your installer. Additionally, we are more than happy to provide advice on the flush-mounted components for BLT design switches & sockets. Moreover, our extensive research into these components enables us to fully understand the various flush-mounted-components.

Furthermore BLT finishing parts are not only dishwasher-safe but also feature a strong magnetic attachment. Ensuring both hygiene and practicality.

For our BLT collection of design light switches & wall sockets, we only use components from Merten by Schneider for the light switches and Niko for the wall sockets. Conversely, our finishing parts for rotary dimmers are compatible with multiple brands of flush-mounted components.

In any case BLT fits on many brands of stainless steel bases for flush-mounted  dimmers. Below are our preferred brands [with Gira, Merten, and Jung being our preferred choices for quality]:

  • Gira
  • Jung
  • Merten by Schneider
  • Hager-Berker

On the contrary flush-mounted components of rotary dimmers made of plastic or aluminium clearly don’t match the magnetic attachment. And can as a result not be used.  In any case the following brands don’t match:

  • Busch Jeager, Niko & ION.

Bright Little Things design switches and sockets utilize the renowned brand Merten by Schneider for switching.

Therefore, it is recommended to plan for replacing your flush-mounted  switches (unless form the brand Merten)  when installing Bright Little Things design switches & sockets.

However, since switches are among the most affordable components of an electrical installation, the cost of the flush-mounted components remains relatively modest. To illustrate,  the costs of the flush-mounted switch is only 5 till 10 % compared to a rotary dimmer.

Bright Little Things employs the brand Merten by Schneider for pulse switching solutions, enabling various functions such as dimming lighting.

Additionally, this pulse switch is compatible with Smart Home Modules, allowing you to control home automation components with a pulse switch, also known as a push-button switch.

The Merten pulse switch comes in a single version. Regardless of how many locations you want to control a light group or lamp from.  Further the pulse switch always works with a dimming module.

The dimming module can be connected behind the flush-mounted components (in the flush-mounted box) or at another location. There are various types of dimming modules. Considering this you choose the one that matches your lighting or a universal one.

We are happy to advise you regarding your lighting plan or home automation.

Our design sockets collection features the Niko flush-mounted component with a grounded socket with and earth pin  for the wall outlets. Clearly, the earth pin is the ideal solution for our fully integrated sockets. Indeed, it is the earth pin that makes the minimalist design of our sockets undeniably possible.

Additionally, we utilize the Belgian brand Niko for the Fynez plinth and BLT Custom-made base.

Obviously a socket with an earth pin, like a socket with earth grounding, is suitable for all possible plugs.

To conclude the finishing parts for sockets are attached to the Niko built-in components using very strong magnets, ensuring a very firm connection. You must pull hard on the plate to detach it.

Furthermore, for the bathroom, we also offer a waterproof version in Solid Surface.

Design switches & sockets by Bright Little Things utilizes the USB A & C wall socket from Merten by Schneider.

The USB wall socket from Merten by Schneider is equipped with two USB ports (Type A and C). The USB Type-A port has a power rating of 2.4A, and the USB Type-C port has a power rating of 3A.

USB-C is mandatory for many electronic devices, such as mobile phones, tablets, headphones, and earbuds, starting from 2024.

As a result, that’s why we have opted for a combination of Type A & C.

Whereas the flush-mounted components are covered by BLT design plates for switches & sockets, it is all about the button!
